Where better than a distillery to start your spirits education?? Owner, engineer, and Head-Distiller Andy Harthcock will guide you through this 2 hour event where you will view a multi-media presentation, participate in a tour of the facility, and enjoy a tasting of our award-winning products. Participants will receive a Glencairn Whiskey Nosing Glass and a $15 coupon toward the purchase of any Djinn Spirits Products. (Purchase tickets here.)

In the presentation, you will learn about:
  • A brief history of spirits
  • Official definitions of the spirit classes
  • Fermentation basics including:
    • Grain
    • Agave
    • Potato
  • Distillation Basics
  • Common Types of Stills
  • Production of the Major Spirits
  • Barrel Magic

The tour will cover:
  • Beer Brewing from Malt
  • Distilling for Whiskey and Neutral Spirits
  • Barreling
  • Packaging

The tasting will present award-winning examples of:

  • White Whiskey versus Single Malt Whiskey

  • American Dry Gin

  • Krupnik Spiced Honey Liqueur

  • (plus a Distiller's pick)

Important Points:

  • Technical concepts will be covered in plain English - no advanced degree required and no prior knowledge is assumed!

  • Light snacks and water will be provided.

  • You must be 21 or older to enroll in this class.

  • Class size is limited - Register Early!

  • Payment is required to reserve your class registration.
